A Flamingo, a Mama, and a Moment
There’s something magical about flamingos.Their color, their calm, their strength in stillness. But here’s the thing most people don’t know…Flamingos lose their pink after giving birth.
Just like many of us.
After I gave birth, I didn’t feel like myself. I wasn’t broken ; but I felt faded.Emotionally. Mentally. Spiritually. And shortly after The Pink Nest was born.
This blog is for every mama who’s wondering where her “pink” went, and ready to reclaim it.
1. Sip Slowly: Create a Self-Care Ritual with Tea
There’s power in pausing. And nothing slows your day down like steeping a cup of something warm and healing.
Try this: Brew a cup of The Pink Glow Recovery Blend, light a candle, and write one word you want to feel today.
Your healing doesn’t have to be loud. It just has to be yours.
2. Reconnect with Your Body Gently
Not to “bounce back.” But to breathe back into your body.
Whether it’s a soft stretch, a walk outside, or dancing in your kitchen move in celebration, not correction.
Try my prenatal/postpartum stretch guide (coming soon!) or a breath-work video from @thepinknest.co.
3. Ask for Help Without Guilt
You weren’t meant to do this alone.Let your community support you. Let your doula guide you. Let your people love on you.
If the flamingo can lean on its flock… so can you, mama.
Asking for help isn’t weakness. It’s wise.
4. Make Beauty a Daily Ritual
Put on the nice robe. The body oil. The gloss. Do your hair ; not for anyone else, but because you feel most like YOU when you do. You haven’t lost her. She’s waiting for you to see her again.
Beauty is healing. Let it be part of your recovery.
5. Breathe Like It Matters (Because It Does)
The breath is the first thing we offer our babies ; and the last thing we care for in ourselves.
Take 5 deep, intentional breaths.Put one hand on your heart and one on your womb.Say: I am returning to me.
You Didn’t Lose Your Pink , You Just Forgot It Was Yours All Along
Healing is slow. Glowing is sacred. And reclaiming your pink isn’t about perfection it’s about presence.
